Welcome to Duffy Designs! My website is an ever
changing gallery of my original jewelry designs. Each piece is hand-fabricated.
As a trained artist and metalsmith, I attend annual workshops at the great
crafts schools (Penland and Arrowmont) for new techniques and inspiration.
I work mostly in sterling silver, with some copper, brass and, occasionally, gold. I like the warmer colors. For color and texture I use "found" objects such as river rocks, colored porcelain shards, glass beads, rusted steel, and slate. I am always seeking unique objects that add to the feeling I'm trying to achieve. |
| I use techniques including: hammering texture for backgrounds,
weaving copper and fusing sterling silver on top for abstract designs. The
use of glass beads as mosaic adds color and interest.
